Spring Cleaning Feature - Cupboards 101
How to keep your cupboards clean and stocked with items you will actually use
Get rid of all items with expired usage dates especially medications: if these items had time to expire, it is likely that you will not be needing them soon.
If a canned or box food item has been sitting in your cupboards since Christmas, chances are you probably will not use it. Donate the nonperishable items to a local food drive or shelter.
Keep baking goods such as flour and sugar in plastic, air-tight containers: this will not only keep goods fresh but will also eliminate clutter and messy packaging.
Keep a box of baking soda in the refrigerator or cupboards. This will absorb any excess odors keeping your kitchen smelling fresh and clean.
Vacuum seal or freeze perishable goods that you will not be using in the near future. This will not only reduce your grocery costs but will also keep your favorite foods fresh.
Make a grocery list each time you shop with things that you will use each week. Clip coupons and know what you need ahead of time. (www.boodle.com)
Keep backups on items that you general go through quickly. This will guarantee you more time in between trips to the market.
